Baby Ellie May 31, 2008

Just a few more weeks until Shay has a buddy to play with.  I am very excited that Ellie is going to come into this world soon.  Vanessa is being a trooper.  Her schedule is as busy as ever and she’s handling everything so well.  Geoff and Vanessa are such great parents already.  Ellie is a blessed girl.

We are having a baby shower for Vanessa on Sunday at the lake.  I’m actually very excited about the shower.  I’ve never been to an outdoor shower before.  I think we’ll have a great time.   I hope she gets tons of good stuff.  Whoever came up with the “shower” idea was brilliant!

Proud Mom May 31, 2008

Shay has never liked being on his tummy.  Whenever I put him on his tummy he used to scream after he had been down for about 10 seconds.  Since he can lift his head better now, he lasts about 5 minutes.  This morning I gave him some tummy time and the coolest thing happened.  He rolled from his tummy to his back!  I know this doesn’t seem like much, but I was so proud.  I think he was proud of himself too   I wish I had some before and after pictures.

I also wanted to add some pictures Pat took at the lake yesterday.  Pat took a ride in the jeep yesterday afternoon and came home wanting to eat fried chicken at the lake.  It was a beautiful night.

I also wanted to add some pictures from Erin’s visit a couple of weeks ago.   Shay really did like Aunt E.

Erin definitely has a bad influence on Shay!  The second picture says it all.  Check out his fingers!

Close Call May 19, 2008

I am so glad that Erin could come down for a few days!  She was a huge help.  Pat was finally able to get some sleep while Erin took care of Shay.  Erin also made her famous chocolate chip cookies which were fabulous.  We had a great time hanging out with her…so much so that we didn’t want her to leave.

On our way to the airport there was so much construction going on on 85 that 3 lanes were closed!  We literally added an hour to our trip down there.  We had only allotted for Erin to get to the airport an hour and a half early.  Erin got to her plane with about 10 minutes to spare. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a close call.

 

Baby Shay got Dedicated! May 12, 2008

Today Shay was dedicated.  What an awesome responsibility Pat and I have.

We had Pat’s family come for the weekend.  It was nice having them.

Shay is going to have a busy week.  He will have Nana with him until Tuesday.  Then, the same day Aunt Erin comes!  Shay has been talking about her visit for weeks now.

We had quite the crew here for Mother’s Day.  I think it’s cool that we had three generations of mothers, and four generations of family members here.

I’m so glad that Shay could hang out with Nana for a little while.  The two of them get along so well.
